چکیده

A rhombic shaped pulmonary autograft patch was applied to enlarge an ostial stenosis of the left main coronary artery (LMCA) in a 25-year-old woman diagnosed with vasculitis syndrome. The patch increased the width of the ostial stenosis and made a funnel-shaped connection. At eighteen months of follow-up, a coronary angiogram by computed tomography showed no restenosis at the LMCA. The rhombic-shaped pulmonary autograft patch might be an ideal shape and material for angioplasty of the ostial stenosis of the LMCA.

Surgical Patch Angioplasty of the Left Main Coronary Artery and/or the Proximal Segment of the Right Coronary Artery

Surgical patch angioplasty is procedure for lesions of the main coronary arteries but it is not performed frequently because of technical complexity and uncertainty about final results. We present experience of SPA for treatment of main coronary artery lesions and assess medium-term outcomes after this procedure. Since November 1998 13 patients have undergone SPA. There was an isolated left/rig...

Surgical reconstruction of the left main coronary artery with patch-angioplasty

BACKGROUND Conventional coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) has been established as the treatment of choice for left main coronary artery (LMCA) stenosis However, the conventional grafting provides a retrograde perfusion to extensive myocardial area and leads prospectively to competitive flow of the non-occluded coronaries thus consuming the grafts. Surgical reconstruction of the LMCA with p...

Surgical angioplasty of the left main coronary artery and/or proximal segment of the right coronary artery by pulmonary autograft patch.

OBJECTIVES There are controversial opinions about the expediency of performance of the surgical angioplasty of the left main coronary artery (LMCA) and/or proximal segment of the right coronary artery (RCA) in rare cases of isolated lesion or with limited involving of distal coronary branches. One of the many fears restraining a wider performance of this operation is the uncertainty in longevit...

Surgical patch angioplasty of the left main coronary artery.

Isolated ostial stenosis of the left main coronary artery (LMCA) is rare, occurring in <1% of the patients undergoing coronary angiography. Surgical patch angioplasty (SPA) offers an alternative to conventional coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in such cases and is advantageous in restoring more physiological myocardial perfusion, maintaining ostial patency and preserving conduit material....
